Whoa!!  Pretty amazing company to be associated with.

It's been a long time since I've posted here.  Plenty to update you on.  I had a fantastic 2013.

-Played Stan aka "Satan" in Romantic Comedy Film, SPLIT
-Co-starred in and co-produced a film with Perry Blackshear and Evan Dumouchel, THEY LOOK LIKE PEOPLE
-Played Jake in the L.A. premiere of SLIPPING by Daniel Talbott for Rattlestick Playwrights Theater
-Have been recording AUDIOBOOKS like mad!
-Booked a few Commercial VOs
-Sci-Fi indie film FOUND IN TIME in which I played lead received a distribution deal!
-Met my new niece Catherine and my nephew Jack turned 2!


Split and They Look Like People are still in post production.

Slipping was rated in the top 10 LA Theater Productions of 2013 on a number of lists including Bitter Lemons.

This year in audiobooks I saw two of my titles receive Audiofile Earphones Awards.  One title was voted Listener's Choice for 2013 on Audible.com.  Two titles were included on Books on Tape's Best of 2013.  Nominated for two Audie Awards!

I also saw many, many, Polar Bears.

Winner at Film Festival!

Found in Time won best Sci-Fi at this year's Shriekfest film festival in Los Angeles!

Just finished laying down a Radio Spot for McDonald's on Monday.
Tuesday I recorded a Video Game.  I don't recall if there are any non-disclosure issues so I'll be safe and avoid details.
L.A. Studios and Buzzy's Recording are both fantastic spots.  A pleasure to record with them.

Wednesday I start recording an intriguing detective thriller called Multiple Wounds at one of my favorite studios, the Media Staff with Jerry Maybrook.

Playing Catch-up Again

Forgive me for being lax with my updates.

In Recent news:  I am currently performing in The Umbrella Plays by Stephanie Janssen directed by Daniel Talbott at the Tank 354 w. 45th st.  Performances this Th, Fri, Sat at 730pm and Sun at 3pm

I performed in Besharet by Chana Porter directed by Scott Rodrigue which recently closed.  This was Alivewire Theatrics' inaugural production at PS 122.

The audiobook, Will Grayson/Will Grayson has been nominated for an Audie Award.

I am heading out to LA in two weeks for an extended working vacation.

Audiobook honors

Will Grayson, Will Grayson which I recorded with Nick Podehl has been awarded a 2011 Yalsa Odyssey Honor for excellence in audiobooks.

The same title has been named a Best Audiobook of 2010 by Audiofile Magazine and has garnered me and Nick recognition as Best Voices of 2010 by the same publication.

The series Chaos Walking by Patrick Ness has been awarded an Audiofile Earphones award. I lent my voice to the third installment of this series, Monsters of Men. The narrators for these titles have been recognized as Best Voices of 2010 by Audiofile.

Flash Burnout, a title I recorded by L. K. Madigan has been awarded an Earphones Award.

Love a Good Reading

Participated in a very casual but very rewarding reading today of a
lost gem of a play called A Hatful of Rain. Some immensely talented
actors involved and our host/director guided the evening with grace
and purpose and brought together a wonderful group of theater artists
for discussion. Except for the ache that accompanies the suppression
of every urge to embody a scene, this evening's reading represented
what I love about a life in the theater.

Weddin' Bells a'Ringin'

Heading back to KY this week to perform my duties as best man to my beloved brother Jackson who is marrying the delightful Elizabeth Gatewood. Couldn't be happier for both of them and am looking forward to a joyous week filled with good friends and a lot of laughter.

This is a book that I recently co-narrated with Nick Podehl and Angela Dawe. I wanted to bring your attention to it because I think it's an exciting and emotionally engaging sci-fi audiobook with full and heartfelt narration from all involved.

Keeping Busy

After completing principle photography for "Found in Time" and the workshop production of "The Sunken Living Room" I have been keeping busy. Projects since have included: A reading at Primary Stages of "Besharet" by Chana Porter; A reading of the screenplay "Love a Nurse" by David Caudle; A performance at this year's Rattlestick Playwrights Theater benefit event called The Rattlestick Theater Jam; A performance tomorrow at Alivewire Theatrics' benefit event; and three more audiobooks. I continue to record voice over's for Insight Communications.

Furthermore, my brother is getting married and we just said goodbye today after his five-day bachelor party, WHICH WAS AN AMAZING GOOD TIME!

Workshop of David Caudle's The Sunken Living Room

Casting has been announced for David Caudle's The Sunken Living Room, to be performed September 14, 25 and 26 at 8pm at Theatre 80 as part of the Howl! Arts Project. Enrico Maria Lamanna will direct the production.

Set in suburban Miami, Florida in November 1978, the play focuses on an effeminate and studious 16-year-old who is trying to finish a book report for school, and the dysfunctional family who won't leave him alone.

The company will feature Brian Miskell (Wade), Macleod Andrews (Chip), Karen Giordano (Lynnette), and Laura Ramadei (Tammy).

The creative team includes Stefano Pirandello (lighting design), Austin Bransgrove (sound design), and Makoto Takada (costume design).
